The June Business Convention was indeed unique from the onset. It combined a conference and trade exhibition. Pastor Jessica’s vision was to impact women not just spiritually but also to empower them financially. The convention gathered up to 8000 people on that bright sunny Saturday in June. The conference was addressed by a leading Christian entrepreneur from Abu Dhabi who outlined godly principles for succeeding in the highly competitive business world.

Highlighting the biblical story of the woman with an issue of blood, who voiced her desires and intention to receive healing continuously until her healing continuously until her healing became a reality Pastor Jessica stirred women to speak their dreams into reality.
The trade exhibition attracted over 100 leading businesses and entrepreneurs in Kampala from government and several sectors of commerce including banking, insurance, tour and travel, catering, retail, and wholesale. The convention provided special exhibition space to women in small scale and cottage Industries at highly subsidized rates.
The convention registered the following accomplishments.
• Dissemination of information: Information on financing of businesses, taxation, investment opportunities, growth and expansion was freely made available to all participants at the convention. Women in small struggling businesses freely obtained information on affordable financing and important qualities and characteristics required to succeed in the business world.
• Inter-networking of Businesses: The strategy of gathering together at the same venue leading entrepreneurs and business people in different categories provided a favorable environment for women to cultivate new business relationships among business people in different sectors and well established entrepreneurs. Businesses were able to identify new markets for their merchandise and establish important business partnerships.
• Mentoring: Leading entrepreneurs freely interacted with small struggling businesses by bigger more successful businesses.
• The convention fostered training in business skills, offering expert advice on how to grow and expand businesses.
The convention tackled health issues specifically addressing health insurance and importance of health to any venture. A fashion columnist with a leading daily newspaper underscored the importance of Power Dressing in the Corporate World.
Girl Power through a raffle draw provided a free ticket to Abu Dhabi Shopping Haven and a special shopping package to a new struggling business. |
